Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2012 Fume Blanc is a California interpretation of a Loire Valley Fume Blanc or Sancerre with subtle notes of grass, figs, melon and honeyed grapefruit. With lots of fruit, this medium-bodied, enticing, consumer-friendly white can be enjoyed over the next year. (Dec 2013)
Wine Enthusiast 87 points - Kudos to Dry Creek for producing a wine this good and affordable. Made without oak, it features zesty acidity that brightens and boosts the Meyer lemon, lime, peach and vanilla flavors. Production was nearly 30,000 cases, making it easy to find. - Editor’s Choice (Oct 2013)
The wine appears almost colorless in the glass. There is a light herbal, grassy aroma along with some grapefruit and green apple. This starts lush on the midpalate and the citrus flavors of grapefruit and lemon predominate on the finish. The Dry Creek Valley has been a favorite location of ours for some time and Dry Creek has always done an excellent version.
