Cheap Pinot Grigio too often tastes, well, cheap. Thin. Flavorless. Ho hum. Here's a quirky little Pinot Grigio from Hungary that won us over with its abundant personality. The low price didn't hurt its appeal either. The nose is a surprising and complex intermingling of apricots, pears, white pepper, papaya, honeysuckle and a hint of dill. The palate is clean and dry with herbal flavors predominating in the finish. Not your auntie's Pinot Grigio, thank goodness.
