Wine Advocate 90 points - There are 1,000 cases of the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Cote Rotie La Landonne. It reveals a smoky/meaty character along with blackberry and cassis fruit. Rich, ripe, full-bodied, tannic, and intense, it is a tour de force in a vintage such as 2004. Drink it over the next 15+ years. (Feb 2008)
Wine Spectator 95 points - A gorgeous nose of crushed plum and Turkish coffee gives way to a plush-textured palate of warm fig, mocha, fruitcake and mesquite. Still a touch taut, but pure on the finish, with fine-grained tannins and mouthwatering minerality. Drink now through 2023. 800 cases made. –JM (Sep 30 2008)
