| Near opaque; blackish ruby/magenta. An open-plus nose; the ripe blackberry and cassis aroma is sweet and focused, with some liqueur-like concentration and purity. The toasty oak background from the oak barrels is nicely proportioned to the fruit. Lovely! There's plenty of sweet Cabernet fruit on the palate (the wine is 85% Cabernet sauvignon from vineyards in Rutherford and Oakville), with the nice support of toasty oak dark chocolate and cedary spice. Very tasty! Very good body, rich, with matte tannins, and god acidity.
Another very good example of the high quality/low price Napa Cab' that one can find in the current market. With the good structure and freshness of this wine, it should keep pretty well for up to a decade, but there's no reason not to enjoy it now!
