Very good saturation; blackish ruby. An open nose;ripe blackberry aroma is fresh and clean, with a nice juicy tone, a little floral note, and faint mineral. A very nice vinous bouquet. The palate has the same put straight-ahead plump blackberry fruit, with just a touch of dark chocolate and licorice, and some mineral. Very tasty. Medium body, round and smooth, matte tannins, and modest acidity.
Made largely from the Moreto and Casteläo varieties, this wine comes from vineyards not far southeast of Lisbon. Being non-vintage, the winery can blend some reserve wines with the most recent vintage, yielding a nice blend of up-front fruit with some depth. A very tasty red for anyday use, and a great buy! |
