This was a favorite for our tasters and I can see why. Deep garnet color. Complex aromas of smoky oak, plum, black cherry, cedar, coconut, vanilla, leather, tobacco, and mocha. On the palate the plum fruit and oak tones predominate. The texture is very supple with resolved tannins. This is classic Rioja with its plummy, oaky character. I expect that this will drink well for the next ten years without much additional development, but who needs it. This is delicious and complex already.
