| Very pale silvery gold. An open nose; ripe apple and citrus nose says Sauvignon Blanc, although this is not the tropical fruit salad of many NZ SBs. Some white pepper/grapefruit zest tickle the nose, and there is some pretty floral notes as well. Altogether.: very good! More of the grapefruit comes out in the mouth, with the tart citrus making a stronger statement, along with some sappy focus. Very tasty! Medium body, some richness, dry, with good acidity.
Although no mention is made on the bottle, we are informed that 'Southern Lights' is made by Omaka Springs, one of my favorite NZ SB producers in recent vintages. I think this is pretty darned good, and the price is terrific!
