Nearly water clear, showing a little foam as it waspoured into the glass. An open-plus nose; a quite ripe apple/peach aroma with some jammy concentration, and lots of exotic floral overtones. Now I find some lime and spearmint. This is very good! Much of the same flavors show up in the taste, though not quite as complex and well defined. The peach jam/citrus combo is there, with a hint of the spearmint, and then some clean mineral comes out in the finish. Good. Light-medium body, smooth, dry, with modest acidity.
A very tasty example of Vinho Verde, it has the low alcohol level that makes these wines useful for certain people, and for service at a luncheon or brunch. |
