Moderate saturation; ruby hue. A moderately open nose; ripe dark red-berry aroma is subtle, with a mix of fresh and baked fruit tones. A light brown spice smell speaks to the time the wine spent ageing in wood, but it is less intense than in other comparable Ruby Portos. Good! In the mouth the wine also exhibits less "tawny" character than many others in this ""class" that I've tasted, though it does come round in the finish/after-taste to convey more of those less fruity/more brown spice kinds if characteristics. Good. Good body, rich, moderately sweet, with good acidity. This basic Tawny Porto has a little more "Ruby-like" fruit than some of its companions from other porto producers, which for me is a plus. A quite good value!
